RENTING VS. OWNING DRAPERIES

If you are renting and don’t want to invest in custom Draperies, then it’s understood. But if you own your own home and are determined to save money in the window treatment department, I’m sad to say that it always shows!
It’s because of how they will compare to your other investments in flooring, cabinetry and countertops that will make it stand out more distinctly.
Even if you’re like me, you may not take in the details as much as the overall impression and you don’t want your family and friends, when they walk in, to get the “feel” of cheap, the perception that you’ve cut corners.
In many cases, since the window treatments are the last thing to purchase, the budget is getting slim, and there is a temptation to compromise what you really want or know will look good and match the rest of the home. The way to counteract this is to get a quote as soon as the windows go in, even if they aren’t finished out yet. This way, you can budget in exactly what you envision, and you will finish well with great satisfaction of the final outcome with the beauty of your home!

“What were you thinking”, NO!

Owned home no-no. Rod too small and tabs are a give-away to big box store purchase.

“What were you thinking”, NO!
These are all great examples of
custom and rich-looking Draperies. The rods are the correct size, the Draperies come off the floor ½” or less, they are in right proportion with the room, they fill in the space between the windows evenly, the lining is quality, they have up-to-date headers, and the fabric isn’t cheap looking and is pressed into professional seams and billows. These will last much longer, and another plus –they will be a classic window treatment if you need to sell your home.
